The tribal print lighting projections reflecting off the walls at the Tribune Standard Fall 2012 presentation at Chelsea Piers gave hints at the collection's theme.  Featuring metallic prints and heavy woolen fabrics constrasted against delicate laces, sleek leather, and luscious silks, designer Tawfik Mounayer references the act of migration and the idea of taking flight as the inspiration this season. Separates dominate, such as finely tailored suits, palazzo pants, and below the knee skirts that still work as sexy cocktail party dresses.  As the models rocked their black lipstick and top knots, the overall feeling of the need to jet to Africa prevails. It's definitely time for Tribune Standard to take flight in the fashion world.
