walking into the Nonoo presentation at the standard hotel is like coming face to face with the definition of beauty itself. the models stood, lined shoulder to shoulder, along a raised runway, and each was spotlighted as a beautiful short video of "the elegant nooma woman" was projected along the far wall, set to light French sounds. heroic elegance captures this collection inspired by the cinema legend, Anouk Aimee, and how she redefined the modern heroine. a return to the romance of old world Paris, designer Misha Nonoo strikes a curious balance between innocence and bold presence through sculpted shapes, sophisticated textures-like silk, satin and cashmere- and royal tones like emerald green and deep violet. we loved getting swept away by the European elegance of pieces like the deep purple silk satin organza velvet dress and getting lost among the quiet details...belted jackets, tortoiseshell prints, braided headband hair, and French lace trim. even after this show and tell, Nonoo's collection remains a mysterious beauty after all.
