Designer Yara Flinn offered up a fabulous Nomia Spring 2013 collection. Embroidered jackets with the quote "Let's Have A Party" were stitched on the back. Hair, provided by Moroccanoil, was effortless and very street chic, as the designer states as being the inspiration for this collection. We sat down to have a one on one chat with Yara about her newest collection.
Alexa Curtis - What was your influence for the collection?
Yara Flinn - Very street-wear approved. My childhood in NYC gave me a lot of inspiration because I got to see what everyone wore. It was a very interesting experience. I combined ensembles and elements to be very young and elegant.
AC -What is your favorite piece from the collection?
YF - Everyone would expect me to say the embroidered jacket right? (We were obsessed with that piece.) The color-blocked long dress with marble print because it combined all important elements of my collection.
AC - What is your number one spring fashion essential?
YF - A jean jacket. Because you can wear it over everything.
AC - Why did you pick these fabrics?
YF - Denim is new and usually wearable. I loved incorporating silk because it's a much more elegant fabric. There is a mill in Italy that will do all the hand embroidery for me.
