Derek Lam's Spring 2014 collection has a utilitarian feel to it. Forms are largely kept simple, with minimal embellishments save for some raffia fringe or twist detailing. Most of the character exists in the textures, with heavy guipure lace, denim, and plaid prints providing the visual identity this perfectly viable collection.
