Binetti 2010 collection was about his adventures in Thailand. Prints such “Thai Sunrise or Night Ocean,” reflected Deigo Binetti 2010 collection. “I love to travel.” calmly Binettti explains. “The bright oranges are the sunsets in Thailand and the deep blues are the reflections of the underworld. I love to scuba dive!” (sparkle in his eyes and sweet smile shined).
Silk chiffon painted dresses, short dresses and pants in rich colors of blue, copper, crème and black were accessorized with mirrors, charms and Swarovski crystals. Jackets and asymmetrical pants were sewn from quality gabardine fabrics and matched with killer heels. I wanted every pair from the black and orange angular block to the black and hot pink strappy platforms. Superb craftsmanship and fit was evident in the full gowns and tunics. Moroccan leather belts tied at the waist of the tunics and oversized blouson gave bohemian feel to the story. I asked Binetti, “What fabrics are important for this spring and why?” His quoted, “I love silks, how is flows and is soft.”
After his Italian mother who is his mentor, handbags and details are second nature. He had helped him mom with hand sewing hems at a very young age. Those Italians know their leathers also. Models were of top notch. It’s no wonder. This collection was ready for the jet setting sophisticated woman. Before grabbing my seat, I asked this traveler/designer where is his next stop, Binetti plans to visit Cambia and Vietnam. Hmmm.. next season should be another interesting show.
